Road journey

Driving long stretches I should say that it is enough for anyone to want to curl up and go to sleep in the back of a car without thinking of how to reach frompoint A to point B. But, well, driving does have its merits too. It helps relax the mind. I have noticed how easy it is to think when driving, especially on long lonely stretches with a sturdy car and even sturdier roads beneath the wheels.

Iam writing all this because soon enough these weekend getaways of mine will cease because I am all set to foot down in Dubai. (Imagine all my friends having to come to see me now for a change!!).Just getting settled in. Life will cetainly be less hectic.

The gull

It was the sea gull that made me think. I have been working here for a while now, on the banks of Abu Dhabi port and never saw this one before. This gull, which naturally reminded me of Jonathan Livington Seagull, was somehow different from the rest. To begin with it looked far more healthier. I could'nt believe that this gull, innocent looking as it was, could become the subject of my muse. It did not have the hungry look of a monster bird, it looked somehow tame and very refined...soemthing one does not usually associate with noisy seagulls.

I noticed it one evening when I was speaking to a friend in Dubai. This bird flapped its large wings and came to settle down upon a small patch of land besides my office. I have heard of white headed seagulls bringing good luck but to confirm it, I asked my friend. Well, a believer in omen that she is, she quickly said it was LUCK. That got me thinking again. Seagulls could really bring luck?

Not easy to believe. I have lived several moons and do not easily believe in brids bringing luck and all that. Yet, one cannot help but hope...can they?

I am not complaining. Things did fall into place after that, like finding a nice place to live, whic going by the rush for living quarters, is a godsend...or shall I say Gull-send!!

I sometimes wonder how I missed this bird before. Did it come only to bring me luck? I have tried to photograph it, but somehow it flies away before I can click. I am still waiting!!

A welcome note to all

Breezingthru' is an attempt to capture life in various shades, like a picture I painted long ago. It has all, memories, some good, some not so good and some which I will cherish all my life. This is how I percieve life, from the view of a friend, an amateur painter, now a father, a husband, a brother. Breezingthru is about experiences in life.

This particular title was chosen because I did not want to stick to specifics, leave it to the professionals (??) but this is my way of sharing a small bit of my life with you guys.
